I grew up almost across the street from the Vilian family in Holden, and the Vilians were good friends with my parents. They were a lovely warm family, and I'm grateful to have known them. I loved Chet and Louise, and was very happy that Chet found love again with Clara. Chet and Louise will always have a special place in my heart, and they've left a legacy of warmth and kindness that I will treasure forever. Even if he did always call me Betty!

Uncle Chet is in my prayers. Chet's sister, Stasia, who is my paternal grandmother is not doing well. She's in a nursing home in Huntsville, AL. Stasia's son, Lee Lindgren (my Dad), is looking after her along with my siblings (Bill, Paul, and Joelle).
There are some photos in Uncle Chet's celebration of life that I found interesting. I plan on printing them out and sharing with my Dad - he may be able to identify past family members. But it

Your dad was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and a special love to Clara. You are going to miss him a lot but just know he is at peace. Linda, the service for Chet was beautiful. And i just have to say that you and Peter brought up two special children! Jennifer and Paul did a wonderful job and you should be so proud of them! Just know that I'm thinking of you and your family.

I am so sorry for the loss of your father. Unfortunately for me, I only had the privilege of his company one time. My impression of him was that he was a sweet and kind man.
I found the obituary so interesting in that my father was on Omaha Beach D-Day Plus One and was awarded the same medals! Maybe they were in each other's company then and certainly now!
Chet was very fortunate to have such a loving and caring

I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I only wish that I could have had the chance to meet Chet. He must have been a wonderful man to raise such a fine son.
My prayers go out for the whole family.
