Memories & Candles
What a great man, we have lost. Joe always had a smile, & a witty sense of humor. What a priviledge and pleasure to have known him. No more suffering & now reunited with Mary-Anne. He will be greatly missed.

I am stunned that Grandpa is gone so soon, I had so many stories I wanted to hear one more time to commmit them to memory. I am so glad I was able to visit a few weeks ago and had him sing me a song that I got to hear every time this clumsy girl scraped her knees, "The old woman of 72" never failed to erase my tears. I wish I was more like my gramps he never

Dad you are a man with many titles, including dad, grandad, gramps and Uncle Joe. No matter the title, you were loved and will be missed by us all. Age does not make it easier for there are just more memories to hold. Uncle Joe had a full and happy life, very proud of his wife and family. He never failed to make us laugh when visiting Canada and gave joy to my mom every time he phoned her. Hugs to Aunt Anne, this must have been a terrible shock. To all of his children, we know the sorrow of losing such a loving parent and our hearts go

Words cannot express how saddened we all are to hear about the passing of our favourite and beloved Uncle Joe. He meant so much to our whole family especially, my mother Rita. She would light up every time she saw him or talked to him on the phone. Her favourite expression was "I'm tellin ya, that Joe is one in a million". It was always exciting for us when My uncle Joe and Aunt Anne came to visit us from

I am proud to say I am Joe Smiley's neice Lynne.
Uncle Joe was always an important person in my life. I didn't get to see him enough. He lived in California and I live in Canada, but he is a special person in my life.
My earliest memory of him is when he visited when I was about four years old. He bought my sisters and myself some icecream. I can remember that happy memory so clearly.
Through the years, as I

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of our favourite uncle Joe. There was never a person who met uncle joe that didn't love him. He was so very special.
We were always so excited when we heard that he was coming home. He was always so jovial, compassionate and loving. I have never seen a sister and brother who were as close as my mother and Joe. My mother was always so excited to see
