The students of T.J. Berdo all consider themselves very fortunate, here was a teacher that cared about all of. I was also lucky to get to know him even better while he lived at Halcyon House. A true gentleman, he will be missed.

I will have fond memories of your dad forever. He was certainly one of my mentors in high school and taking a class from him sparked my interest in accounting and guided me on the path to my future. He was a very special educator and a terrific person.

Sue, Becky and Tom,
We just heard about your dad. We remember the great summers we spent in Iowa and the fun we had when he took us on hay rides. He was a special person and a great uncle. Our prayers go out to you.

T.J. was such a kind, intelligent, and witty man. Although I never had him as a teacher like most of my siblings, I was fortunate to get to know him through my sister, Brink. They were such close friends, they truly cared for one another. She would often share neat stories about their times together — T.J. had a great sense of humor. The tone of his voice was easy to listen to and he always seemed to have a story to share. T.J. will dearly be missed.

Sue, Becky, and Tom, you're in our hearts and thoughts at this sad time. I especially remember your father, when he volunteered at the VA hospital, where I worked. He was always so giving of himself, and helping his fellow veterans out, wherever he was needed. He was a true patriot and a gentle man. Knowing his traits have passed on to the next generation will make the world a better place.

I first became acquainted with T.J. when he and Georganne moved into Halcyon House. They were such a lovely couple and T.J was always a gentleman and a great guy. He had a great twinkle in his eyes and was a pleasure to visit with. I can visualize him and sweet Georganne holding hands in heaven.

What a great influence and inspiration Mr. Berdo was to me in high school! I knew him through FBLA and OE, as well as through taking probably every class that he taught. He was a great teacher and a very caring person.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I have always considered Mr. Berdo as one of my mentors in my life. When I took a bookkeeping class from him in 1966 he helped me realize that my calling was working with numbers and 46 years later I still use what I learned from him. How lucky was I to walk into his class and have those lessons that he taught me hold true to this very day.
To his family, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.
