Memories & Candles
We extend our sympathy to the Ricks family from myself and my mother, Doris. My family have been long time friends with Deva, Helen and Wilbur.
We have enjoyed many visits with Wilbur at UMC and he will be greatly missed by all.

The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. ~ Eileen Elias Freeman
Condolences to family & all who had the privilege of knowing this fine man. He will be remembered with love.

Wilbur was by far the sweetest, kindest, Christian man I have ever known.
He always kept track of my grandchildren because they were close in age to his great grands. the world has lost a gentle soul.

I stayed with them for a couple of weeks one summer. It was a great time and I really didn't want to leave. Anyway, he came home from work one day with a puzzle for us kids.
We worked on it for several days to no avail. He finally admitted that the solution to the puzzle was that there was no solution.

I wanted to give a ball, because it's fun to play catch with you and Minnie. Thank you for going out to eat with Papa and me. I'm glad we got to have a day together a few weeks ago and Thanksgiving with you and Minnie! Love, Tyce Matthew

I wanted to give a lily. They are the symbol of new life. I hope you are having a great party with God in Heaven! Love, Ella Grace

So glad to have visited with Wilbur last month during Sunday School at Creston UMC. Quite a guy and quite a story. So much I had not heard before.

We extend our sympathy to the Rick's Family while at the same time celebrate the life of Heaven's new angel. Growing up in Church with such a true Christian and wonderful person will always be remembered. I am so glad that just 2 weeks ago I ran into Wilbur in Fareway and took time to give him a hug and visit. Wilbur is definitely a symbol of a life well lived!
