Mr. James Thomas Huckaby, Jr.

I worked in the Plano Bldg at Bank of America until I moved to the Amon Carter Bldg a few months ago. James used to come by and talk with me and other co-workers about the scriptures and about his family. I was deeply saddened when I learned of his passing. I pray God's comfort for the family.

James, I didn't know you personaly but I do know we always spoke to one another and said what's up. You will be TRULY MISS FRIEND!

I came back to work after being off a week and heard about James death. I am very, very upset about this. To the average person, James looked like just a worker in his department. But I know differently.

James and I used to have some deep spiritual conversations. I am not Christian and these conversations did not have anything to do with religion. It was spiritual. James was deeply spiritual. He was open-minded and had a curiosity of life of more than what you literally see with your eyes. His inner knowing was well above and beyond what you will hear in church. James had wisdom, true wisdom.

James was ambitious and wanted the most out of life. He was laid back and easy going, so this was not known if you did not know him well. He was trying to figure out how to go back to school while working full time. He wanted more from life than just his job. He was an artist and wanted to use his talents.

At work James was assigned to a different building, and since then I did not see him much. When I did run into him I let him know how much I truly missed him. And I don't think that I was the only one. It seemed that James was liked by everyone who knew him. It gives me some comfort knowing that that I let James know how much I enjoyed our conversations.

I'm not trying to seem selfish or narcissistic, but I am wondering what I am supposed to learn from James death. I'll have to think about this. Maybe it is as simple as to let someone know that you appreciate them. I do know beyond a doubt that James knew I enjoyed our friendship, even though it was only at work.

To James family - he was a devoted family man. And he stood by his commitment. He learned strong family values from his mother and father. James was a sensitive and caring man, putting others needs before his. In Yiddish terms, James was a mensch.

My life has been enriched by having known James. I will miss James so much. I want him to come back. But maybe God needed someone special like James in heaven.

James is my younger brothers father Julius Huckaby. I remember him in my very young years as somewhat of a father figure then, who captured many childhood photos of myself and brother. I remember him in my childhood as always taking pictures and doing fun things with me. He will be missed and my heart is sadden of his lost. I know that he is in heaven in a better, happier, and more peaceful place. May he rest in peace.

I have been blessed knowing James. Thank you for the talks we shared about EVERYTHING. Vidal and I really appreciated and enjoyed James friendship and will both miss the time we shared.

I KNOWN JAMES FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AT WORK WE TALKED ABOUT GOD THE BIBLE WHATS RIGHT AND WRONG. THAT PERIOD OF TIME WE KIND OF SHARED OUR TESTIMONY WITH ONE ANOTHER. James,You were a fine man. Talking to you about scriptures and what they meant was a pleasure. I think you have a special place reserved in the Kingdom of God, and will be pleased to enter the Joy of your Lord. I'll always have pleasant memories of our association. God bless you.

R.I.P James, you are truly missed. I never got a chance to tell you how much I enjoyed our talks and how you brightened my day with your smile. You were a wonderful person to get to know and it was a pleasure working with you. I still can't believe you are no longer with us on this earth, but I know you're smiling down at your loved ones and friends. I will keep your family in my prayers as they get through this tough time.
