I worked for Sonny as an admissions counselor in 1997-1998. He was truly one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He made a huge impact on me, as well as so many students at SAU. I am praying for his family during this difficult time. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My late husband, Bobby Joe White, and Sonny grew up together, played high school football and remained life long friends. I met Sonny when Bob and I were dating. He will be missed by so many.

Fond memories of getting "schooled" by coach Wittington in Badminton Skills class. He would spot us ten points and still beat us. Good days! Sherry, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Whittington hired me for the fall of 1987 to work as a student worker in the admissions office while I worked @ Texarkana College under Steve Middlebrooks. Steve recommended me to Sonny & I worked for him the next two years. He was a great man to work for & he truly was a great fit for SAU. He will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
