Memories & Candles
I first met Gerry over 30 years ago. He was a pioneer in the court reporting industry when he went on the Baron Data System and embraced computer-aided transcription.
Always so friendly and sweet, he always took a moment to say hello. He was one of those faces I loved to see at the STAR conventions. He will be sorely missed.
My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Dear Children and grandchildren of Gerry...
My name is Kathy Renn formerly Sevier, I am the oldest sister of Lorraine's friend Colleen Monette. I was the "first babysitter" of Steven and Lorraine when your mom and dad first started to date (at least I am pretty sure that is correct). He was a kind, thoughtful man then and from everything I have heard about him he lived his life that way until his passing on to Heaven. What an amazing legacy

I first met Gerry when he was 36 years old, and I was a beginning reporter. He was the best kind of mentor, the kind that inspired because of who he was, the example he set. 36 years later, I can count on one hand the number of people that I have met who can make people feel warm and welcome just by walking in the door. He was one of those people, and I feel totally privileged to have known him and worked with him.

Dear Hanson family!
Our deepest symphaties, we are so sorry to hear about your loss.
We appreciate that we had the opportunity to meet Gerry in Stockholm. Glad you all made that cruise, in time.
Although we just spend one day together there, we felt like we knew him for longer. He was such a kind and nice man!
Thinking of you all.
Rest in peace Gerry.

My deepest sympathy to the Hanson family. I began typing for Gerry long before computers, before he started his own firm. He was one the nicest, kindest people I've had the pleasure to meet, always concerned about everybody else. When computers came in and I wasn't ready to scope, Gerry referred other reporters who were still dictating to me to make sure I always had work. Over the years he would call and say "I've got an attorney that needs

I had the privilege of meeting Gerry only one time on one of his visits to see Kathi in Minnesota. In the short time we spent together I could see what a kind and considerate man he was. My deepest sympathies go out to you, Kathi, and your family. Your dad was obviously loved by many and will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Gerry was my boss twice. I loved working for him because he never seemed like my boss. He was not overbearing, judgmental, just another court reporter. I hadn't seen him in years but often thought of him. He was just a nice guy. He hired me when he was first getting started out on his own, and didn't really have the work yet, but he took me on anyway. He gave me a break. You'll be missed, Mr. Hanson and especially by your family. Heaven now has an excellent "scribe".

My deepest sympathy to Gerry's wonderful family. I worked for Gerry starting in 1984. Gerry was the best boss, a good friend, a wonderful reporter. I left reporting in 2007, but came back to Hanson/Renaissance in October 2012 as a proofreader, and luckily got to see him at our recent Christmas party and spend some time with him. God bless, Gerry. Rest in peace. You will be sorely missed.

My deepest regrets go out to Gerry's family. I have known Gerry for about 20 years and considered him a great friend. Having gone on sporting events around the country with him and sharing many laughs, he will be missed by me and his race track group but have many great memories which I will always treasure. God bless you, buddy.
