Memories & Candles
Diana and Don, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. So many of my main childhood memories (holiday family gatherings and countless horse shows) bring to mind your mom's warm smiles and hugs. She always shared her truly kind heart with all of us. My thoughts are with you and your families.

She was my best friend as I started married life. She and her husband Dick shared many precious moments throughout our life's with family and friends, especially Bill and Marilyn Hutton. The loss of our husbands sent me down another course, though Pat and I shared many special times through our love for Arabian horses. I cherish the two times I was able to visit Pattiann recently before her passing and will always remember her with love. Skeeter

Wanted to send our love and thoughts to you all. You are family - our pasts are entwined. I am fortunate that my memories are all of "Mom #2" - with the joy, rebellion, love and tears that go with family. Pat was so talented, had such a BIG heart (especially for the critters!), and was so very determined. She was not meant to be alone - Dick was a great foil for her, and I think his loss changed

So saddened to hear my cousin, Patti Ann, has passed.
She and I and my sister, Judy, played together several summers from the time
we were about 9-10 yrs. old to about 13-14 yrs. old. Her parents, Opal & Henry
Fulks, would vacation from Illinois to visit with us and my parents, Ina and
Wendell Shue, at good ol' Burke, Va.
Later, while I attended The George Washington Univ. in Washington, DC, she
attended The University of Maryland at College Park, only a few miles away

It was an honor to know Patti. We have so many delightful memories of her and Dick -- the Friday afternoon POET parties and weekend stay-overs with the whole “gang”! And all her animals. When we visited her recently in the hospital, the three of laughed so raucously remembering the old days that I feared we’d be asked by the staff to leave. Every Spring Break she welcomed my nieces for a day in the country with the pets and

Mary and I was sorry to hear about Patti's death. I was a colleague of her husband's for many years in the ISU English Dept. My wife and I knew Patti and her son with whom we spent many pleasant Friday evenings.

I will always hear Patti's adorable laugh in my mind when I drove up on my scooter one day. Her laugh and smile made the jaunt worth while. She was very interested in the scooter, and I almost had her convinced to take a short ride with me. We shared a love of all things four legged. My heart goes out to Don and Diana and your families. You are all in my heart and prayers.

Diana, Don and families:
I am so very sorry to learn of your mother's passing. She was my favorite piano teacher, and what I learned from her I have used all of my life -- the love of music, playing it, singing, and just being part of it. There are few days when I sit down to the piano and don't think of her and thank her for that gift of music she gave me (I even still have a piece
