Wilma Jane Atkinson

Wilma was one of the most loving and giving people I have had the pleasure to know. She had a ready laugh, wonderful sense of humor and patience dealing with growing teaen age daughters and their friends. She was an encourager and adventurer. Wilma and Marsh always included me in family actiivities, and generously invited me on vacations and weekend trips. Wilma Richards Atkinson was a great example of love and giving, and living how Christ wants us to live. I'm so grateful to have known her.

I feel so fortunate to have known Wilma all my life. Growing up my parents were friends of her and Marsh, then when she would come into the Courthouse to do genealogy research and when my mother moved to Halcyon House last year our paths would cross. Always so friendly and enthusiastic, she will be missed.

Please know that I share your loss as Wilma & I became special friends at Halcyon House. I recently retired from Halcyon House after 22 years and Wilma wrote a speech and bid me farewell at a party in the Timmins dining Room. I was deeply touched as when she spoke, I knew it came frm her heart. Her family can take pride in the life she lived and I can almost see her in the arms of her dear, Marsh. Rest in Peace, Wilma!

I was sorry to read of Wilma's passing. I stopped by and visited with her the middle of November. She and my dad were first cousins and we also lived across the street from your family for 14 yrs. I used to babysit Marsha and Becky and spent my younger years playing with all the neighbor kids....the Fields, Moriartys and Atkinsons. Your mom was a very interesting lady and so knowledgeable in the Richards ancestry and she will be missed.

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Wilma, growing up we would often visit Wilma and Marsh in Washington. She was always so welcoming, and will forever be a wonderful part of my childhood. My sympathy goes out to her immediate family...... I know she will be missed by you all.

My sympathies go out to Wilma's family. I had the privilege of getting to know both Marsh and Wilma through my job as Halcyon House Liaison from WCH in the 90's. What kind, gracious, God-fearing people they were. I remember the US map with the thumb tacks marking their many travels. We even bought their brown pick up truck with topper and enjoyed camping in the back as Marsh had it rigged up for storage and sleeping. I'm sure that both Wilma and Marsh are "wonderful" in heaven with Jesus. You're in my prayers.

Wilma was part of the 'Topic of the Day' discussion group at Halcyon and added much to the discussions with her quick insight and understandings. We all consider her 'friend' as her caring and concern embraced each of us. We will miss her.

Wilma was a dear, beloved family friend to us for many years.. She gave good hugs and was so kind. She truly cared about my family and was a big part of many events we had. One of the biggest honors I had as a musician was to sing with my friend Kathy Patrick at church in honor of Marsh and Wilma's anniversary. The last time I saw her was at my mother's 70th birthday party, and we were all
