Jacob Dakota Satterfield, age 15, passed away January 19, 2013. Jacob is a sophomore in high school who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baseball, wrestling, fishing, camping and campfires. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Jacob was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward and Margaret Willis. He is survived by his parents, Ricky and Donna Satterfield; siblings, Caleb and Rebecca Satterfield; grandparents, Richard and Sue Satterfield; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral service for Jacob will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 – 11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church, 1724 Decatur Road( Hwy 155 N.) McDonough, GA 30252 with Rev. Rick Statham officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Olive Road off of Hwy 20 in Canton, Georgia 30115. I remember when I went to their condo in Florida,we were walking when Jacob and Caleb spotted some girls.Me and Rebecca told them to walk by and they would look,and of course the girls looked. I love you Jacob love your cousin,Makenna

Jacob is one of my many Great Nephews. We never get to spend enough time with those we love.
I have a picture of him when we was about 2 pretending to be Elvis playing his little guitar.
It is in my office and I see it everyday.
He always had a big hug for me.
I really love seeing all the memories posted from his friends. It helps my heart knowing from your post that you knew God played a big part in his life. I can see from his friends God plays a big part in yours. Thanks for loving him and being a friend. My heart breaks for his brother, sister, Mom and Dad. Plese keep them in your prayers.

Jacob always had something nice to say about everyone. He always knew how to make me feel better when I had a bad day.
He will be missed but I know that he is in a better place and that God is with him and the family.
He has lived in my neighborhood for forever so it will be sad to not see him.

For everyone that knew and loved Jacob we will be having a candle light vigil in the coming dates :)

Jacob and I met in math class in 8th grade. he and another friend of ours were always messing with me, taking my shoes, purposely trying to embarrass me and make me not be so serious. he always said i stressed too much and was too serious and i needed to take a chill pill. the next year, our first year in high school we had health and gym together we would always talk across the room in health and then he would always take my black jacket and zip it all the way up and just walk around like that. when we started gym i was always sad because i was going through some stuff and Jacob would always know exactly how to cheer me right up. we would always walk together in gym. whatever one of us was doing the other one was always right by the other doing the same thing. he always made me play sports in gym with him knowing I'm not an athletic person. so he would always stand in front of me and protect me from the ball. during the second semester we walked to every class together because he knew i didn't like to walk alone. he was always a very caring and generous person and never wanted to do wrong to someone. he was always worried about wanting to please everybody i then told him what he always told me "calm down and take a chill pill". over the summer we had a couple all night long phone calls because we always had so much to tell each other. he had so many friends and they were all so different but that's how he was. he was just always friends with everyone. Jacob Dakota Satterfield was like a brother to me we would always look after each other and had each others backs. whenever i needed advice or someone to talk to he was always there whenever no one else was and i would always be there for him when he needed me. although we didn't talk a lot this year you have still been someone i have always told everything to even when we only talked for a few days. i wish i could've talked to you more this year Jacob and that we would've had a class together. ill always remember the memories we had with each other you wont ever be forgotten bud. you will be missed by so many Jacob. God created an amazing person and now has an amazing angel with him in heaven have fun buddy ill see you there :)

Jacob was my my best friend. He was always there for me when I needed him. Met him last year and instantly became best friends. We listened to all of the same music and listened to the same songs. He kinda became like a brother to me. I remember when we would message on Facebook, he would always have something funny to say just to make me happy. I really wish we could have hung out before he passed because one of the last few messages we sent was saying that we would all hang out this coming weekend. I will miss him so very much and I will never forget him. God has received an amazing angel and I know he will be watching over all of us. This is Kensley,and Ethan.He loved these two babies so much!Every time he would come over he would ask about them,and tell me how much he missed them,and how he couldn't wait to see them again.Kensley always ask about Jacob,and called him her "Justin Bieber".

I don't even know where to start...me and Jacob were closer than anybody. We met back in beginning of 6th grade...and since then, we were always hanging out every chance we could get. I did some of the stupidest stuff with him in middle school...like that one time me and him wrote on the school bus seats. we woulda never been caught, but he wrote "6th grade rules!" and everybody knew it was us hahaha. we would also see each other in orchestra every single day. jacob, we met about 5 years ago in mrs.saucier's orchestra class. You played the viola, and i played the violin. We talked in class and it was always about wrestling or either just the weirdest things. We stayed in orchestra for the next years and we kinda found other friends but we still talked, you always was really good friends with ben. You guys were the best of friends! Like brothers! You was always that one kid that had to have it your way and you made sure it was done rite haha. Very smart too.
