I am the son of Charles B. Watkins and Rebekah Elizabeth Stephenson Watkins. My father Charles was the brother of Buck's mother, Ella Louise Watkins Russell (known to me as Aunt Louise). When I was a child, I visited Clarksville on serveral occasions to spend time during the summer vacation (1950's). I was 13-15 years old. I loved to visit there, and all were so hospitable and kind. Buck took a special interest in me while I was there, and

My deepest sympathy to Mr. Russell's family. He was one of my favorite patients.

Dear cousins: Our mutual cousin, Lee Carrigan, sent me Buck's obituary. I, too, remember so many things about him. My mother, Nell Koonce Skonberg, had such fond memories of him and always talked about him with a smile on her face because he was so much fun. You may not even know that I exist. I am Nell's daughter, one of her three children. Nell was the daughter of Minnie Russell Koonce. My brothers are George Skonberg, who lives in

Lucy, Charles, and Becky, I learned of Buck's passing from my uncle, Tom Kirby, and want you to know how very sorry I am for you and the extended Russell family. Having lost my mother, Katherine, nearly one year ago, I empathize with you as you deal with the loss of a beloved partner and parent. I have so many pictures of my visits to Clarksville over the years -- the furniture store, the "boys" houses, the site of great-grandmother's

My regards to the family of the late "Buck " Russell. Buck and I go back to the time we, Patricia and I, moved to Clarksville buying Cary Jewelry co. in early 1970's. I got to know Buck on the golf course and ther was never a more fierce competitor than Buck. He never gave up! He would spit in his hands before hitting and say something like, "come on, Moose, we can whip their behinds!" More than likely, he did! Another icon of Clarksville gone on to their greater rewards. I'll really miss ol' Buck!

Lucy and family, So sorry to learn of your loss. Buck and Benjy often shared a golf cart at Kinderton and I'm sure they shared a few giggles as well. My thoughts are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, but my memories are with Buck! He and I enjoyed a few games of golf at Kinderton, and a few hours of discussion at his "office."
