Memories & Candles
I met Schmutzie way back in 1969,when he had his gas station. He was quite the character, riding his unicycle while he put gas in your car.We were friends ever since. He was a great story teller.
My thoughts and prayers to his family.Bob will sadly be missed.
- Wheeler, WI - friend Feb 23, 2013
We did a little business, played a few cards, and had a lot of fun. One day shortly after lunch, I asked Bob if he wanted to ride along to the car auction. He said "Sure I haven't anything else going on!" . "When are we leaving he asked? " " Right now I responded because we are already late." We jumped in the car and away we went. We were about half-way to Wausaw when he looked at me

I had the good fortune to meet & know 'Schmutzie' while being fellow limo and bus drivers. A great storyteller, a sharp wit, forever curious & forever young in mind & spirit, friendly & giving, fervently devoted to the love of his life Alma, equally so & proud of his children & grandchildren. I won't forget the twinkle in his eye, his impish grin, the corny jokes & puns, his generosity & quiet thoughtfulness, a passion for playing blackjack,

We will all miss "Blackjack Bob's" visits down here at POLZER'S in Durand with his Coke-cane. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell.
