We are deeply grieved with the news of your son's death this past week. Although there are no words that can take away your pain, know that you and your family are in our family's prayers. We pray that God will grant you peace and will bring you comfort during this difficult time.

I can't begun to understand the pain you must be feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire feeling. I will not be able to attend the services in Electra, but please know you will be in my thoughts.

Steve was a great friend of mine. I knew him all throughout college where we both attended St. Edward's University. Throughout the time I knew him, he was always a very nice and welcoming person. I always enjoyed his quick wit, clever jokes and songs. Whether it was the months we spent abroad in Japan for school or just hanging out around Austin, he was a fun loving guy and was always very kind and generous to everyone around him. I will miss him greatly.

Gary and Loren. We are simply more than saddened to learn that Stephen died unexpectedly. We have your in our prayers while we know that Stephen is making his beautiful music in Heaven. I will remember him as the youngest Cartographer ever and his ability to whistle while roaming in the yard. Please accept our condolences. Kent and Geneva Johnson

I was so saddened to read about Stephen. I have such wonderful memories of him. I loved how he would tell me funny stories on the playground. What a great sense of humor he had! His kind and loving heart will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew Steve as a friend of my sister's, but over time I have come to consider him a friend of mine, too. I remember the profound effect he had on the people around him, and how he could get us all to spontaneously burst into song (although the choreographed dancing was a bit too much...) Steve's warm personality and terrific sense of humor were the perfect accompaniment to a nice meal at home, where he was always more than welcome. I remember those dinners fondly, and likewise I remember Steve as a great guy who always brightened spirits.

Stephen never ceased to amaze me with his charm and intelligence; he was an incredible person to be with at work and outside of it. There is no problem he couldn't solve, and his area of expertise was expansive. I feel grateful to have known and been inspired by him.
