"We were so saddened to learn about Mike's passing. There are no words that can bring comfort for your loss.
I worked with Mike at Wolf Creek and Pontiki. He was always smiling and had a story or joke to tell. I will really miss him.
I (Lana) talked to Mike when he would come to Dad's store, Peoples's Market. His Mom worked for my dad for many years and I knew Mike as a pleasant funny guy who loved life."

"so sorry for Mike's passing...I know there is no words to describe the feeling. Mike and I worked together at Kermit Coal and Wolf Creek....we not only work together, we rode together, eat our lunches together and shared many, many laughs, conversations about life, our families, our dreams...If there is only one Blessing that I received in life, it would have been to have the pleasure of knowing Mike...he was a real friend indeed, he always had my back and I always had his...so long for now friend...

"Dear Mary, Chris, Lora, Alex, Jared, and Emilee, I love you all so much and I am so sorry for your great loss of your husband, dad, father-in-law, and grandpa. I hurt for you all so much. I'm sorry I can't be at the viewing or funeral. I have very fond memories of cutting Mike's hair years ago. He was such a great, friendly and personable man. I'll never forget him. "Mike, aka Cookie Monster, u will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved you. Tell everyone in Heaven hello for us and that we will all be together again. Mom and dad thought the world of you and Mary, and so did I for the kindness that u showed to all of us. Mary and the kids will miss you greatly, but the memories they have of u will outweigh the sadness of losing you. You brought a smile to so many faces in the East Kermit area.
