"We just found out today that Marie passed away and hearts go out to her family. Our son goes to the same school that Gina graduated from and he told us that she was there today & he mentioned Marie's passing. We were in shock. We knew Marie from when she was at Cooker's in Solon (years ago) and then from Lawrence School where Gina graduated HS. Marie had a wonderful fighting spirit & super sense of humor. There wasn't a phony bone in her body and we adored her. May she rest in peace. Marilyn and Steve Eva"

"Dear Gina and Barle Family......Today is 4/6 a few weeks after Marie's passing.......boy do I miss her. I have so many memories of Marie that my heart will always have a deep appreciation of who she was and what she always wanted to be and was. She was the best.....I loved her outlook on life and her sense of humor was just out of this world. When I needed someone to do something Marie was there to volunteer. No questions asked. Just how can I help attitude regardless how she felt physically. It was very hard to see her the last 2-3 weeks becasue she was not the Marie I knew becasue I knew she was losing the battle but she held her head high and with great faith. She probably new her time was up but like all the other times in her life she was not going down without a good fight. She was an inspiration to many and she influenced many of us in a variety of ways......we just didn't know it! I send huge hugs and if I can do anything for you and the Barle family, please don't hestitate to ask. Val"

"My wife and I knew Marie from the Blue Canyon. We met her just after they opened and spent many, many nights with her over the years. She wasn't just a server or a manager, she was part of the BC family. She always made us feel at home and stopped to talk with us. I know things must have been tough, but you'd have never known it to talk with her. She was always possitive and in a good mood. She brought out the best in everyone around her. You were a friend Marie and you will be missed."

"Gina,
I am sorry about the loss of your mother. I send my deepest condolences to you and to your family. Please be strong in these tough times, and enjoy the moments that you shared with her.
From the first time that I met your mother at Blue Canyon, I thought she was a wonderful, energetic person to work with. I truly enjoyed every conversation that I had with her, as she always found a way to make me laugh.
May Marie rest in peace."

"It was Blue Canyon that brought us together, Burt Svenson that put his arms around it, and then Lawrence School that topped it all off. It was like we were destined to be friends, and Marie was and will always be, one of the brightest lights that shines. Now it will be in our hearts and in our memories.

"I am so saddened by the passing of Marie and send my love and warmest condolences to the Barle family.
My memory of Marie will always be of a happy, fun-loving kid at the ice skating rink. I will remember how she made me laugh, and I will remember how brave and strong she was. God bless you, Marie."
