I have remembered you in prayer, JoAnn. It has been a joy through the years to pray for Paul on his birthday through the Foreign Mission Board prayer calendar in Open Windows. God bless you and comfort your heart. With love, Patricia DuBose

Words are so hard to come by at times like this. Thank you for inviting the ladies of our neighborhood into your home. I only met Paul on one occaision and he seemed completely warm, generous and was obviously the love of your life. We are so sorry that he has left this earth but rejoice with him as we know he is with Jesus. Our love and prayers, Carol and Ken Woodard

I was saddened to hear of his death. We lived next to him and his family in Fort Bliss, after coming there from Germany. He used to terrorize (smile) Gisela and me when I spent the night with her! Really lost touch with him later, but was impressed to hear of his education and then his entry into the ministry.
I would really like to get back in touch with Gisela. Look for me on Facebook.

My condolences to the Beduerftig family. I remember him as Gerd, the sweet little brother of my friend, Gisela, when we lived in Ft. Bliss, Texas

We are so thankful to get to know you and Paul. I will always remember the Bibel Study we had together. It was a blessing to my life. And the many times we met to have fellowship and having a great time together.
Thank you for serving us in so many ways. We pray for you, JoAnn, and we love you.

Joann, I feel unfortunate that I did not know your Paul more than just a "Hi or Bye" as I entered or left your home. I know he was a wonderful man of God from all the comments and memories left by those whose lives he touched. What a nice tribute to his life. When you spoke of him I could feel he was an outstanding husband and friend to you by the tone in your voice, your smile and your eyes expressed love for him.
I am saddened to hear of his passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Joann, you have been a good neighbor and friend to me, I hope you will let me be there for you when ever possible.
With loving thoughts and hugs,

Dear Joanne,

It's hard for us to believe that Paul is gone. We can still see him standing at the Brussels airport waiting to welcome us into Belgium. We love you and Paul. As we told Paul stories last night, it was obvious for us that one of Paul's best qualities was his loyalty and faithfulness. If we ever needed Paul, he was there. He was a rock, never ashamed of Jesus, a great friend, a good man. We will miss him terribly. Heaven is closer for us now, knowing that Paul is there. You are in our prayers Joanne. We love you!

Norma and I were so shocked and saddened to learn of Paul's sudden death. We fondly remember our time together at Mt. Zion, and the joy of knowing you both. Our kinship as former missionaries in Europe gave us a special bond. Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you during these difficult days.
We love you. John and Norma Herndon

Memorial Tribute to Paul Beduerftig
Our dear friend has "Crossed over to Heaven". We celebrate his life while grieving with his dear wife Joanne, friends and the churches he served in America and Europe. Paul's life was well lived serving the Lord. He had a passion for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, witnessing and teaching. He had a shepherds heart for helping people. His legacy will continue to live through those blessed by his life and ministry. He will be dearly missed for he is dearly loved. Our prayers are with his dear wife. We pray the Good Shepherd will carry and comfort her in the valley of grief. Love and Prayers Ray and Helen

Jo Ann,

We were certainly shocked to hear that Paul has gone on to be with the Lord. It seems strange that the thing we long for the most leaves such a gaping hole for those that have to remain for a while. It seems like only yesterday that we were running around the UA campus preparing for life and wondering what it would bring. Little did we realize the grandness of the Plan or the paths that our lives would take. We look forward to the time when we can all get together again in our Lord's house in the rooms that He has prepared for us. In the meantime we will continue to pray for you for the peace and comfort that only our Lord can give.

In His Love,
Don & Margaret

We could fill a book with our memories of Paul. From the day we arrived in Belgium 19 years ago to today, Paul has been our Pastor and friend.

Paul has invested so much into our lives and always encouraged us to do two things, "Faith God" and "Just tell them about Jesus."

Our kids will always know him as Uncle Paul.

We will never forget all the time we spent together, all our discussions, and all the prayers.

This is not goodbye, this is not the end. We will be together again!

Paul and JoAnn have always been great neighbors. After April 27, 2011, they came over to share several meals with us, most notably the one where we ate our wedding cake top since the freezer was melting. It was good company and a good meal.

I'd never have guessed when I came over to exchange books with JoAnn two weeks ago that it would be the last time to see Paul.

Safe travels, Paul, and a welcome home at the gates of Heaven.

Joann, your neighbors are there whenever you need a helping hand, or a cup of tea to sit and talk.

With sympathy and love,

Pastor Paul was truly a spiritual father to me, who showed me Jesus and taught me to love and trust Him. I will be forever grateful to the Lord for our beloved Pastor, who was a faithful servant of the Lord and a fisherman of men.

Praise our Lord and King Jesus for a life well spent before Him!
