Condolence & Memory Journal

I have known Tom for the past 42 years and have considered him as one of my best friends both on and off of the State Police. Tom was the best supervisor that I ever had and he taught me all that I knew. Tom was also the best party planner that I ever knew and he really did enjoy a good laugh. Tom enjoyed life to the fullest and was a good sport and athlete. Tom was a devoted family man to both his wife and children. He will always be in my wife and my prayers for eternity. Goodbye friend until we meet again. Clay & Laura Bollman.

Jackie & family
I worked with Mac for 20 yrs in Media and he was a great, friendly and funny guy. I have many great memories of him, on and off duty. Got me out of trouble a few times. I bought his old Chevy after it was recovered, but that is another story lol.

Too many memories to isolate just one for Mac was a great story teller, the kind that peaked your interest so much that you found yourself leaning in for more with a huge smile on your face. Mac was many things, but most of all, he was a great friend and was a part of our family's lives for many years. I will always admire him and I will never forget him. You will be missed.

What I remember about Cpl. McDonald,

Running in Ridley Creek State Park after work on Mondays and then getting the keg from Goodales for the Monday Night Softball games at the Gris Mill before going to the Lobster Pot for a pregame beer.

That old Chevy Impala that he drove.

I wrecked my personal car by running into the back of someone on Rt 1at Cheyney Road and Tommy as the investigating officer, asking me "How fast was that guy going when he backed into you?"

Running cars around to get estimates and oil changes. Especailly when Trooper B. shot up the roof of the troop car and Mac sent me to get the estimates.

Mac was a good guy with a big heart!!

Life Stories

I was stationed at Phalsbourg Air Base in France with Tom and we lived in the base trailer park. We were promoted to in rank on the same day. My wife and Jackie had a little in France at about the same time. My Wife Ursule and daughter Karen arrived in the United States and stopped at Tom and Jackies home to spend Christmas together in December 1962. We last saw Tom and Jackie at the Phalsbourg reunion in Missouri. We have kept in touch all these years. To hear this sadness brings great sorrow and our best wishes go out to all his family.
Love,
Gene and Ursule Shabin
