I had Joe in freshman English. He was always such a sweetheart, funny, polite. Even in the next years when I no longer was teaching him, he always said hello in the hall. He had a good heart and will be missed. My prayers are with you all.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you at such a difficult time. I am glad I got to meet Joe. I was looking forward to maybe working with Joe more this season. I have worked on and off with Billy over the years. Joe reminded me a lot of Bill. He made me laugh alot.just like his dad always has. Great man. He will be missed

Words can not express the lose of such a special person. Joe was such a wonderful person. I know that my life got blessed the first time I meet Joe. I will never forget the caring and love he showed to me and Ann. My prayers go out for everyone that feesl the hollow space that the lose of Joe has left. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort us all tomorrow.
God Bless us all and comfort us.

Our Prayers are with your Family

The Richards Family,

Joe was always a great kid to work with at school. Even though he could get into a little bit of trouble now and then, he could make you forget what he did when he would give you "that look and smile". I am so sorry to hear he has left us. Your family is in my thoughts during this tough time.

Billy and Annette,
Words cannot describe how sorry we were to hear about Joe. I just wish that we could take the pain that you are feeling away.
Joe was a great guy and I enjoyed knowing and working with him. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Rest in peace Joe.

Joe was one of kind. He had a smile that would melt your heart, and was always so polite when addressing staff and fellow students. He was one of those kids who could just give you that look and smile and you forgot that he just might be in trouble about something. How sad it is he left us so early. Meghan you and your son are in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe was one of my fourth grade students at Durbin, and I will never forget him. He was such a fun-loving child with a big smile! I know that same sweet child grew up to be an outstanding athlete in high school and most recently a loving father and husband. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Richards family.

I have been praying for you all and the huge loss to your family. I found a quote to share:

Death is not a journey into an unknown land; it is a voyage home. We are going, not to a strange country, but to our fathers house.

John Ruskin (1819-1900)

Love you all,

I lived in Atlanta over 10 years ago. Joe would always go to his Grandma Shirley's down the road from where I lived. When he found out that I lived in Atlanta he would come down and visit me. I would always look for him to come and visit. I wouldn't change anything about having my 2nd cousin come and visit. I am glad to have got that chance to spend with him. I have known him since he was baby and I love him so much! God has a special Angel with him!

I wish I would have the opportunity to have spent more time with you. I know you were very well liked with many people. You will be sadly missed but not forgotten. You have taken your "Final Flight."

It was an honor to get to meet Joe and know him for the few years that I did. Always such a nice and happy person and always loved to talk. You will be missed by so many I know.
