Condolence & Memory Journal

I can remember many wonderful things about ny grandmother, "Mema". How we started calling her Mema, I can't recall. I can think of countless memories at "The Rancho" watching Mema and her sisters making tamales or watching her in her ceramics room or when she taught me how to embroider.

When I would spend the night with Mema and Popo I would steal her away from Popo and make her sleep with me in the other room. She would rub my back until I fell asleep. Sometimes I would go with her to the elementary school where she would be working at in the summertime I would follow her around and pretended I was her assistant.

When in Atlanta in the summer, she would take us swimming at the apartment swimming pool and afterwards make those incredible tacos.

Looking back at the times I spent with her, I can honestly say these are just a few of some of the best childhood memories a child can have. She was a secind mother to me. She will always remain in my heart and I am so glad my children had the opportunity to meet teir "great" grandmother, Mema.

Although I am truly saddened by her passing, I have found peace knowing she is no longer suffering. I love you Mema and look forward to seeing you again.

Your Granddaughter,
Britni Arredondo Sullins.

My deepest condolences to the Arredondo family. I had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Arredondo years ago she was a beautiful and sweet lady.. two of her grandchildren are my cousins (Jeff and Noelle) as well as an old childhood friendship with Danny Ray and Lisa. May God bring each one of you comfort in this time of sorrow.

Connie was my secretary at Zavala Elementary School for 6 years. What a woman. She was so methodical, honest, cheerful, loyal and a true friend. I tried to contact her in Atlanta but I my letters were returned. To her family my deepest condolences. I loved her dearly. I know she will be missed by all those who knew her, worked with her and loved her.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as my heart still struggles with the loss of my mother not so long ago.
