Abimael Vega, 47, beloved husband of Denise (Duquette) Vega, and a resident of Dracut, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Tuesday January 15, 2013.
He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 13, 1965 and was a son of Adelaida and Marcelino Vega of Winder, Georgia.
Abimael was educated in the Puerto Rican School System and was a parishioner of Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Abi served his country in the Marine Corps and was self-employed as a tax accountant. In the past three years, Abi coached track at St. Louis School winning a league title with his track stars. Abi maintained a great sense of humor and loved the practical joke.
Surviving him besides his wife and parents are two sons, Michael Vega, a student at Lowell Catholic High School and Adrien (Duke)Vega, a grade 8 student at St. Louis School in Lowell; a brother, Joshua Vega of Tampa, FL; a sister, Wanda Rivera of Tampa, FL; a brother-in-law, Derek Duquette (a brother in Abi's heart) and his wife, Sandra of Lowell; two sisters-in-law, Deborah Pelletier (a sister in Abi's heart) of Lowell and Diana Truitt and her husband, Russell of Hudson, NH; five nephews, Dean Duquette, Alec Makarewicz, Kevin Armijo, Jr., Nataniel Rivera, Jose Rivera; three nieces, Lucy Duquette, Keyla Rivera and Alicia Truitt.
