Billy Browning passed away at peace on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Billy was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He loved his family very much and his strength shows in all of us. Billy was born on July 17, 1943 in Austin, Texas to Christine Doyal Williams. His mother, Christine was married to Clifford D. Williams who had a son, Charles Wayne Williams and together they had one other son, Clifford E. Williams, as well as two daughters, Sandra Williams Brice and Shari Williams Wilkison. Billy was proud to be a brick layer for twenty years and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. He also loved to bowl and did so most of his life, as well as manages Westgate Lanes for ten years, he eventually retired from Purvis Bearing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Doyal Williams; his stepfather, Clifford D. Williams; and his stepbrother, Charles Wayne Williams.
He spent the last twenty years of his life happily with his loving significant other, Gerri Ball and together they resided here in Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Clifford E. Williams; sisters, Sandra Williams Brice, Shari Williams Wilkison; two sons, Thomas Alvin Browning, Brett Eugene Browning; as well as daughter, Anissa Lynn Browning Roddy and her husband, Keith Michael Roddy. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Barrett Eugene Browning, Zane Thomas Browning and Chelsea DeAnne Browning.
Per his wishes, Billy will be cremated; and his children would like to invite everyone to join us in a celebration of his life at a Memorial Service 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. With great thanks, Steve Gifford and John Cope will be saying some kind words in honor of Billy during this celebration.
His children would like in lieu of flowers to please send donations to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Drive, Austin, Texas 78759, who were so helpful in caring for our father.
