Bobby D. Hazel
Mauldin, SC

Bobby Darrell Hazel, 78, passed away Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 at his home.

Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Frank Godfrey and Lucia Owings Hazel.

He was a member of that Greatest Generation that honorably served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Bobby was a faithful member of the Empire Lodge No. 213 AFM in Mauldin and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 28 year's service.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 53 years, Henrietta Spoone Hazel, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tim Woods of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Charles Hazel of Mauldin and Edwin Hazel of Laurens; and his beloved granddaughters, Taylor and Morgan Woods. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Darrell Hazel and a brother, Earl Hazel.

Mr. Hazel is at The Mackey Mortuary where the family will receive friends Monday, November 19 from 10:30am until 11:45am with services to follow in the chapel at 12:00pm with Pastor Roy Coughorn and Pastor Jerry Mobley officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
