Football Emblem

Dalton Hribal, 16, of Creston, died Friday, November 23, 2012 near Prescott, after injuries due to an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Creston High School Gymnasium in Creston. Rev. Ken Halbur will officiate.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Creston.

Open visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday November 27, 2012 with family receiving friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and a 6:30 p.m. Vigil Service Tuesday at the Powers Funeral Home junction of highway 34 and 25 in Creston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be given at

Dalton Joseph Hribal was born June 14, 1996 in Creston, Iowa to Christy Ann (Lowe) Hribal and Shane Joseph Hribal. He was educated in Creston Schools, where he was active in wrestling and football. He worked at Fareway in Creston. In his spare time he loved fishing, rock climbing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, motorcycles, mud racing and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his mother, Christy Hribal of Creston, father, Shane (significant other Molly Burchett) Hribal of Creston, two sisters, Mykenna Hribal of Creston & Jenna Swisher of Boone, Ia., grandparents, Kathy Hribal and Joe Hribal, both of Creston and Diana Lowe of Mt. Pleasant, great-grandparents Gene (wife Jean) Miller of Creston and Mary Bennett of Monmouth, Ill.; three aunts, Dawn (husband Kevin) Drake of Creston, Jessica (husband Josh) Wambold of Lenox and Janelle (husband Bob) Lowe-Bowman of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, family, classmates and friends.

Dalton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Morris Ray Lowe, great-grandparents, Shirley Miller, Sollie & Mary Elizabeth Lowe, William & Wanda Bennett, Joe and Bernadine Hribal, Uncles Jerry and Brendan Miller and a cousin C.J. Miller.
