Darrell Martin, age 66, of Kingsport went to be with his twin brother and sister on November 12, 2012 after a serious fall.

He was born in Dickenson County, Virginia. He was raised in Trammel, VA, and resided the rest of his life in Kingsport. He retired from AGC, Hawkins County plant with over 40 years of service, nicknamed, Possum. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Ruby (Crabtree) Martin; his twin brother, Harold Martin; and sister, Shirley Hale.

Surviving are his wife Deborah (Dishner) Martin of 42 years; son, Kevin D. Martin of Kingsport; two grandchildren whom he adored, Conner and Jaden Martin; sisters, Betty Snipes of St. Paul, VA, Sadie Ruth Payne of Bluefield, VA, Carolyn Sue Pearson of Lovettsvile,VA; brothers, Herm Jr. Martin, Don Martin and wife Norma both of Kingsport, Bobby Martin and wife Jan of Clintwood, VA, Chris Martin of Bluefield, VA; special in laws, Dollie and Sidney Dishner of Kingsport and Randy Dishner and wife Lisa of Gray, TN; extended grandchildren, Josh and Megan Lumpkins; special niece, Beverly Martin; many more special nieces and nephews; and his special pets, Cocoa and Patches.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Underwood officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dishner, Ed Dobbs, Nick Nichols, Jack Smith, Ricky Smith, and Kevin Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Payne, Jr. Snipes, Randy Snipes, and Johnny Snipes.

Friends and family may visit any time at the home of Sidney and Dollie Dishner.

The staff of Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is honored to serve the family of Darrell Martin.
