Burns, David John

Of Jackson passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at University of Michigan Health Systems at the age of 56.He was the son of David Walter and Margaret (Campbell) Burns born February 24, 1956 in Muskegon, Michigan, and enjoyed his first view of Paradise on November 24th, 2012. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Tyler Charles. David, 'Strider' is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathy, five loving children, Katherine, Allyson, Tyler, Gwendolyn, and Hayley, and his pal and grandson, Giorgi (and his honorary son, Stefan). He is also survived by his siblings Tom, Joe, Ann, and Paul. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Library Science and New Testament. Dave made many close friends working as a librarian at both JCC and Spring Arbor University. Dave was a lover of literature, music, and movies. An avid writer and reader, he spread his love for knowledge and understanding to his family. With his sharp wit and warm smile, David Burns will be dearly missed by all and never forgotten. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church, Wednesday, November 28th, 2:00 PM, Reverend Mark VanValin officiating. Refreshments and drinks will be served after the service at 748 Glenwood Ave, Jackson, MI, 49201. Gifts and donations may be sent to the same address.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
