Norris, Donald L., 78, US Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired founder of Norris Training Systems, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; James J., Sr. and Amy I. Norris; brother, James, Jr.; sister, Virginia (Norris) Love; parents-in-law, Oscar and Margaret Killman; sister-in-law, Fern Welch; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Killman. Donald is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, David (Anita) Norris of Wichita, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He graduated high school from Seaman High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Washburn University. Following his navy service, Donald indulged in his love of helping people through employment as a dispatcher for both the Topeka Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol. After serving for many years in the Kansas Insurance Department in both Topeka and Wichita, he and his wife, Ruth started and co-owned Norris Training Systems for 26.5 years providing pre-licensing training and continuing education services for insurance agents. Visitation: Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral: 10 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at Lakeview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd, Wichita, KS, 67206.
