Donnie Kenneth Bender passed away after a brief illness on January 11, 2010 in Laguna Niguel. Donnie was a resident of the High Desert for many years currently residing in Laguna Niguel. Donnie graduated in 1982 from Apple Valley High School, where he was an outstanding football player for coaches Hook and Morgan. While there were certainly times when Donnie struggled, his love, compassion, and integrity touched hundred of lives. Always the first person to stand up for what was right. Donnie's presence in a room was unmistakable. No matter where you met Donnie, you had a good time and found him surrounded by beautiful women. During his time working in the fitness world, Donnie developed a reputation for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. It was not by accident that he became one of the top salesmen for 24 Hour Fitness, helping open dozens of locations across the U.S. During his time working in the fitness realm, Donnie became a trainer for the UFC and managed the ultimate fighter Victor Belfort. Through his trials, Donnie emerged to make those around him stronger. When others struggled with their demons, Donnie was there to help them. His generosity, and the love he shared so freely and without expectations, is what will be missed most. Donnie is survived by his father, Dennis Bender; mother, Marlene Bender; brothers and sisters, Kelley Delgado, Denny Bender, Dionne Hill, Rhett Dornbach-Bender and Allison Dornbach-Bender; and his children, Brandon Bender, Riley Bender and Skye Bender. Bobby Kennedy's son, Maxwell Taylor Kennedy eulogized Donnie at a memorial service held in Santa Monica. A celebration of Donnie's life will be held on Saturday, February 6th, at 11:00 A.M. at the Roy Rogers Dale Evans Chapel at Sunset Hills, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, California. Go to Facebook and search for "Donnie Bender" to leave a memorial tribute. Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary is handling the arrangements. Updated service information and on line guestbook are available at sunsethills.cc
