Gary Edward Ashworth, 58, of Pedro, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his residence. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born August 10, 1954, the son of the late William and Betty Webb Ashworth. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dewanna McKnight Ashworth of Pedro.

Gary was a graduate of South Point High School and worked at the family business, Grandview Building and Supply. He was also the former owner of the Arabia Market. He enjoyed painting cars, mechanics, tractors, piddling outside, and spending Sundays with his family

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
2 sons: Gary Matthew Ashworth and Mark Andrew Ashworth and his wife, Kayla all of Ironton
a daughter: Sarah Elizabeth Ashworth of Richmond, KY
3 sisters: Melissa Prentice and her husband, Sheldon of South Point, Susie Carmon and her husband, Clyde of Cincinnati, and Patty Ashworth of South Point
3 brothers: Don Ashworth and his wife, Sue of South Point, OH, Ron Ashworth and his wife, Ginger of Winchester, KY and Todd Ashworth of Middletown, OH

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, Ohio with Steve Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
