Geraldine M. Rusch, age 96, of 430 Sydney St., East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 4:36 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2013, at home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Ave., with Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. To celebrate Geraldine's life friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Ave. Behr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Geraldine was born on January 24, 1917, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Francis and Henrietta (Grimme) Rettenmaier.
Geraldine married Raymond August Rusch on June 24, 1941. He was killed in WWII on March 27, 1945. Geraldine was a member of the Gold Star Wives.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, her brothers Charles and Edward, her sisters Sylvia and Marion, her granddaughter Sheryl Marie and a great-granddaughter Faith.
A Geraldine M. Rusch memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Bell Tower for their loving care of Geraldine.
