Mr. Gregory Charles Dent was born June 15, 1955 in Canton, Ohio to Arthur Charles and Ruth Osteen Dent. He departed this life on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Gregory graduated from East Canton High School and attended Berkeley College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a truck driver for several years for the Schneider Trucking Company. Gregory was an avid accomplished drummer. He had the distinct opportunity to play with the famous recording artists, Kool and The Gang. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his loving parents Arthur C. and Ruth Dent, one brother Robert L. Dent, one sister JoAnn Howard (Nehemiah Howard), devoted friend, Lisa Bowen, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loving relatives and friends. One sister, Gloria J. Davis, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Friday at 11am in Mt. Calvary 2nd Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Eric Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 9-11am on Friday at the church. The Reed Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
