Baseball Emblem

James F. Davis of Sun City, Arizona died on January 26, 2013, at the age of 72 years. Jim was born June 9, 1940, to Frank and Della (Martin) Davis in rural Harrison County, Iowa. He attended country school and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1958. Jim married Janet Park in 1960 and the couple had three children. Jim lived and worked in Omaha and Woodbine, where he attended the First Christian Church, was a volunteer fireman and during the early 1970s owned Jim's Standard Service. After selling the station, Jim worked in the paint industry and eventually moved to Denver, Colorado in 1985, and retired to Sun City, Arizona in 2011.

Jim loved horses, gardening and growing vegetables, camping and RVing, and going to concerts and listening to music. Jim also loved watching sports, especially baseball. In 2007, he realized a lifelong dream when he attended a World Series game at Coors Field in Denver. Although Jim moved from Woodbine, he enjoyed staying in touch with high school friends and hearing the news about his hometown.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Kelley, wife of Don Kelley, of Woodbine, Iowa; brother Mike Davis of Logan, Iowa and sister-in-law Sue (Strain) Davis of Logan, Iowa.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda (Kinnison) Davis of Sun City, Arizona, with whom he shared 12 wonderful years; daughter Stephanie Davis (Filo D'Souza) of Seattle, Washington; daughter Pam (Doug) Kincaid of Denver, Colorado; son Jeff (Kristi) Davis of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Julia Kincaid, Charles Kincaid, Amelia Kincaid, Callahan Davis and Naomi Davis; and many other relatives and friends.

Jim was cremated and a private memorial will be held.
