Joseph Grasso passed away on January 12, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in New York, NY on November 12, 1933 to the late Ciro and Guiseppa (Cerro) Grasso. Joseph was an aircraft mechanic for 39 years for Trans World Airlines, working out of New York, Las Vegas, and finally in Phoenix. He was married to his wife, Marie, for 56 years before she passed away on July 1, 2012. His life was dedicated to providing and caring for his family. Joseph served his country by enlisting in the Air Force for eight years. During his enlistment he was in the Korean War. Later in life, Joseph served again through the VFW, The American Legion Post 105, The 40/8 and The Korean War Veterans Association. He is survived by his children, Joseph Jr. (Kim), Victoria (Tony) and Christopher (Margaret); sisters Rosalie Faustini and Beatrice Schembari; grandchildren Kristin, Sarah, Samantha, Nicholas, Toni, Jude, and Gianna. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, January 16th from 6-8pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. Peoria. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17th at 11AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N. 35th Ave. Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
