Katherine Elizabeth (Salts) Danzey, 90, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2012, at Sterling House, an assisted living facility in Peoria, AZ. She was born on August 6, 1922, in Sewickley, PA, the middle child of Ralph Edwin Salts and (Mary) Agnes (Garvey) Salts. She grew up around Coraopolis, PA, graduating in 1940 from Moon Township High School. Known variously as "Kate" or "Kathy", she worked for many years as an executive assistant for various firms and also as a reservationist on the Vista Desk at US Airways.
She was pre-deceased by her parents; by her husband, Robert Bryant Danzey; by both of her siblings, James Salts, of Spooner, WI, and Margaret "Peg" Wynn, of Moon Township, PA; and by her grandson, Matt Graham. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Graham (Jim), and son, Kevin Danzey (Sharon Bernero); three grandchildren (Gary(Temre), Katie (Bryan), and Jenn(Doug)); and four great-grandchildren (Brett, Ella, Brice, and Everett). Almost the last of her generation in the family, she became the matriarch and was fondly known as "Aunt Kaki" to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staffs of Sterling House and of Sun Valley Hospice who treated her with care and gentleness.
