Dr. Kenneth Vern Neller, 58, of Searcy, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. He was born on February 20, 1954, in Corona, California to Connie and LaVern Neller.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 38 years, Barbara; sons Colin (Eden) and Seth (Sarah); parents Connie and LaVern; siblings Dennis, Diane (Joe), and Brett (Irene); and 2 granddaughters Juliette and Violet and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a true follower of Christ, faithful husband, loving father, super Papa, devoted minister and shepherd. He was a servant, professor, scholar, mentor, and friend. He was a great and wise man of God, an inspiration, leader, counselor, and encourager. A man of integrity and faith; many never saw him without a smile on his face or an encouraging word.
He dedicated his life in service to God and had an impact on the lives of countless people over the years. He devoted his life to serving his Lord and Friend through his work as a minister and elder at Downtown Church of Christ, Searcy, Arkansas, as a professor of Bible and Religion at Harding University, and in Uganda helping and teaching others how to spread the gospel.
We rejoice that he has been called home to our Lord Jesus as "a good and faithful servant."
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 1:30 - 3:00 PM at Downtown Church of Christ to be followed immediately by the memorial service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery and Powell Funeral Home of Searcy is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Dr. Kenneth V. Neller Scholarship For Ministry Fund via the Harding University Advancement Office, 915 East Market, HU Box 12238, Searcy, AR 72149-2238.
