Linda Vaughan Grant, 65, passed peacefully into that far better life with her Lord and Savior and with those beloved family who went on before. Her courage during this fight with her health was typical of her strength of character, reflecting her loyalty and dedication to and deep love for her family and her zest and love of life.

Linda was born in Wayne County on November 1, 1947 to the late William Murphy Vaughn and Katie Barwick Vaughn. She was a member of Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Linda was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life. She was deeply devoted to her family and was happiest when she was spending time with them. Linda always looked forward to attending services at her church on Sunday.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2013 in the hour prior to the funeral service at Seymour Funeral Home. A service celebrating Linda's life will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Terry Heath and Rev. Gerald Holloman officiating. The family will also greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home. Interment will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Linda is survived by her husband, J.W. Grant; her children, Donna Newsome and fiancée Steve Sutton of Goldsboro, Ricky Teel and wife Kriss of Pikeville, and Kelly Pyle and fiancée Jason Ziegler of Goldsboro; step-daughter, Kim DeLeon; and her grandchildren, T.J. Goodman, Garrett Pyle, Metta DeLeon, Bella Teel and Sawyer Teel. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jo Smith and husband Kay; brother, Bill Vaughn and wife Faye; special nephew, Landon Smith; and a dear friend, Soundra Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gaynelle Wall.
