Louise Hessert Shown, 91, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Kingston at Dupont in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Louise was a graduate of North Side HS 1938 and IU School of Nursing 1943 she was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women - Past Pres of FW Dist. and North IN Conference; General Conf delegate in 1968 & 1972 for UMC; World Methodist Conference delegate in Dublin Ireland in 1976; United Methodist Board of Decipleship - Worship 8 yrs; Church Women United - VP & Pres FW; Bd member of the National Church Women United; IN State Board of Operation Classroom with consultation of schools in Sierra Leone and Liberia, Africa; Past member of FW Women's Club; She and her husband designed and made Johnny Appleseed dolls and other historic FW personalities for the Johnny Appleseed Festival.Surviving are her sons, David K. (Elaine) Shown of Laotto, IN, Timothy D. (Jane) Shown of Spencer, IN, Donald G. (Barbara) Shown of Fort Wayne, IN daughter, Janet L. Ormiston of Fort Wayne, IN, Joyce A. Bir of Fort Wayne, IN, Beth E. (Bret) Pohr of Baytown, TX, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren . Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Christian G. and Edith W. Hessert, her husband, Wilbur D. Shown, brother, Paul B. Hessert, sister, Ruth E. Rest. Service is 11:00 am, Tuesday December 11, 2012 at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 E. Wayne Street with calling one hour prior and Rev. Greg Enstrom officiating. Calling also at Monday, December 10, 2012 at D.O.
