Michael L. White 61, of Kokomo, passed away at 5:28am on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home surrounded by loving family, after a hard fought battle with Lung Cancer. Michael was born in Winamac, IN August 30, 1951 to the late Peter and Helen White. In 2003 Michael married Ann Marie White. He was a 1972 graduate of Taylor High School. He retired in 2009 from Kokomo Center School Corporation as a maintenance supervisor. After retiring, Michael continued his passion with "Mike White Painting", displaying his tremendous work ethic. Michael also spent many early years of his career driving a semi-truck locally and nationally for various companies, including the United States Postal Service. Michael loved fishing with his brother Bill, spending time with his three grandchildren, and caring for his yard and home. Michael attended Grace United Methodist Church. On Thursday, November 29, 2012 he and his wife Ann were baptized.
Surviving are his wife; Ann Marie White, of Kokomo, daughter; Nichole L. Mills of South Bend, son; Beau M. White, wife Jennifer of Noblesville, brother William White, wife Linda of Sharpsville, sister Jana Marden of Kokomo, three grandchildren; Harvey, Hunter, and Hannah Mills of South Bend.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Helen White, and his sister Pamela Mayfield. A special thank you goes to Dr. Andrew Spoljaric III, Dr. Carl and Cathy Kuenzli, Julie his nurse with St. Joseph Hospice along with the entire St. Joseph Hospice team.
Visitation will be from 2pm – 6pm Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street. Services celebrating Michael's life will be at 10am Monday, December 10, 2012 with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Michael's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
