Miguel (Mike) Martinez, age 37, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Miguel was born on January 22, 1975 in Glendale, Arizona as the first-born son of Juan and Imelda Martinez.
Growing up Mike attended Pioneer Elementary and Cactus High School. Hanging with friends and family was something he always enjoyed. He was known for being a hard worker. His favorite past time was cruzin in his Honda listening to music and watching his favorite team the Arizona Wildcats. His hobbies included watching movies, military documentaries, and being proud of his "clean-cut" look. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. Mike was best known for his ability to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. He always put everyone before himself; he was the one to give a lending ear, advice, and stories for days. Mike's biggest achievement was being the "best" uncle and having the privilege to be the Godfather to four of his nieces and nephews.
Having dealt a set of difficult cards in life, he was always able to overcome through perseverance and his strong faith. Unfortunately due to his condition, he lived vicariously through his family members and cherished their accomplishments and enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews grow up.
We will forever love you, miss you, and always have you in our hearts. Miguel is survived by his parents Juan and Imelda Martinez, siblings Maria Martinez and David White, Lilia and Carl Clark, Kristy and Noah Rodriguez, Delia and Leroy Dominguez, John and Nadine Martinez, and Richard Martinez. Nieces and nephews Lacken, Macey, James, Helene, Andrew, Natalie, Jacklyn, Kevin, Noah, Julian, Toni, Alex, Jushua, Ava and great niece Sophia.
A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 West Thunderbird Road, Peoria, Arizona. Friday November 16th 2012 from 1 to 4 pm with a Rosary to be held at 3 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday November 17th 2012 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5510 West Cholla Street Glendale, Arizona. Graveside services will be held immediately after funeral services at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.
John 14: 1-3
Jesus Comforts His Disciples "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
