M. Marie Cornell, 94, Galveston, passed away at 12:56 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Cass County due to injuries sustained from an auto accident. She was born April 10, 1918, in Dickey County, North Dakota, to John P. Rayl and Cora (Jackson) Rayl. On May 20, 1939, in South Bend, Indiana, she married Ross Cornell, he preceded her in death. She had worked for Haag Drug store in Kokomo for many years. She was a longtime member of Galveston United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Silvernail, of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, seven sisters, and two foster brothers.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main Street, with Rev. Roy E. Ice officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday, two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
