Nathaniel Lee "Nate" Phillips, Jr, age 25 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, December 16th at Schneck Medical Center. Born October 8, 1987 in Seymour, he was the son of Nathaniel Lee Phillips, Sr. and Marsha (Elkins )Collman. On February 22, 2012 in Seymour, he married Dawn-Angel Garcia.
Nate attended Full Gospel Apostolic Tabernacle in Brownstown. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and doing mechanic work.
Survivors include his wife Dawn and his parents Nathan (Victoria) Phillips of Seymour and Marsha (Edward) Collman of Crothersville. Nate also had two sons, Kamryn David Phillips and Jonas Ray Lowe. He and Dawn were also expecting another child May -21st. Also surviving are three brothers, Daniel (Chantel), Isaiah and Collin Phillips all of Seymour. Three sisters, Kayla (Jeff) Williams, Erin (Jason) Vernon and Elliana Collman all of Crothersville; grandparents, , Clara M. "Nana" and Jim Anderson of Seymour, Floyd "Papa Fishy" Elkins, Jr. of Seymour, Aaron and Teresa Phillips of Oakland, Maryland and Great-grandparents, Alfred and Sheila Asarisi of Mississippi. Father and Mother-in-Law, LeShane and Dalia Fugate. Nate also had several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pastor Larry Robbins will conduct a funeral will be held at 7:00pm Thursday, December 20th at Seymour Harvest Church at 414 N. Chestnut Street in Seymour. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday at the church. A graveside service will be held Friday at Riverview Cemetery at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements.
