of Nora's Passing
On January 6, 2013, our sweet, Italian mother, grandmother, and sister, Nora Santero Schmidt, age 89, of Star, Idaho passed away. She had mentioned to us toward the end that she was ready to see Carole, Stella, her mother, and family in Heaven.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise.
It all started when Domenick Mario Santero married Minnie Francis Teppa in a small town in Italy. The couple came to the United States and began to start their family; a big family of 13 children. Nora was born May 21, 1923 in Sterling, Colorado. She was raised in Nebraska.
Nora married Emil Schmidt and they raised three children together; Carole, Roy and Sheila. After 50 years Emil and Nora divorced.
Mom enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, gambling in Reno, gardening and always cooking Italian food for her family. She had a beautifully landscaped yard full of amazing flowers and trees, thanks to her son, Roy. Her roses and tulips were breathtaking.
Nora is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Roy Schmidt and daughter, Sheila Lopez and husband Gilbert Lopez; son-in-law, David Stewart; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two brothers, 3 sisters, and extended families. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole Stewart; five brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
Mom, we will love you forever!
The family wishes to thank Kuna Assisted Living, Life Care of Center of Treasure Valley, and St. Luke's Hospital of Meridian for all of the tender loving care that was provided to her.
