Peggy Puckett Gilliam, age 75, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord, with her family by her side, following a lengthy illness.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Gravely Baptist Church. She was baptized at Stateline Baptist Church. She was an animal lover.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Nannie Davis Puckett; sister, Ruth Terry; and brothers, Bob Puckett, Lester Puckett, Charles "Shorty" Puckett, Earl Puckett, and Harold Puckett.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles L. (C.L.) Gilliam of Kingsport; daughter, Jennifer E. Gilliam of Knoxville, son, Daniel T. Gilliam and wife Jill of Kingsport; grandson, Austin Taylor Gilliam of Kingsport; and three step-grandchildren, Whitney Curran, Margo Cantley and Cody Vicars; and sister, Kate Kiser of Casper, WY. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home or anytime at the home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Entombment services will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Oak Hill Mausoleum I, on Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at 12:00 PM.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Starnes, Pat Patterson, Bob Neal, Tommy Ashworth, Taylor Gilliam and Cody Vicars.
Memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's name to the Bridge No Kill Animal Shelter or West View Missionary Baptist Church.
The staff of Oak Hill is honored to serve the family of Peggy Puckett Gilliam.
