Phyllis Roark went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Phyllis Roark was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to Loys and Sarah Hutchens. She married her high school sweetheart, Barney Roark, on Nov. 25, 1945, in Fort Worth while he was home on leave from the Marine Corps. They owned and operated Roark's Drive-In Grocery on Seminary Drive in Fort Worth. She was a devoted wife and mother with a friendly, outgoing personality and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lanelle Hutchens.
Survivors: Husband, Barney; sons, Barry and wife, Kathi, Glenn and wife, Candace; grandchildren, Mike and wife, Courtney, Mary Simpson and husband, Jason, Crystal Haynes and husband, Scott Seahorn, Sarah Page and husband, Brian, and Sean Roark; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard "Hutch" Hutchens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Autumn Leaves Alzheimer's and Memory Care, 7100 Dutch Branch Road, Fort Worth, and to Seasons Hospice for taking good care of Phyllis.
