Rick MacIntosh lost his battle with emphysema and chronic back pain on February 16, 2013 at the age of 66. He passed peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. Rick was a quiet man but when he spoke he spoke with purpose. He was fiercely loyal, generous, patient and had a giving heart. He had a strong will. Rick was a devoted family man and often embraced others as family. Rick enjoyed golfing, both playing and watching it on TV. He also loved boating but most of all just hanging out with his friends.

Richard Allen MacIntosh was born in Pueblo Colorado in 1946. He was born to Robert and Jewette MacIntosh (Tamma & Papa) and was the younger sibling of Bill. He attended Englewood high school, but it was at Englewood grade school where he met the love of his life, Elisabeth (Libby) LaGuardia. Rick and Libby met when they were in sixth grade and became an item at the early age of thirteen. Defying all odds they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 13. They were married in Denver Colorado. Rick began his career in the family hotel business, but eventually changed his career path toward the construction industry. In 1963 their first son Richard Allen Jr was born. After the birth of their second son, Jeffrey (Scotty), they moved to San Diego California in 1973. It was in San Diego were Rick began a successful 25 year career in the automotive painting industry.

Rick was a devoted family man who was very proud of his two sons and his four beautiful grandchildren, Adrianna (age 27), Lindsey (age 23), Nick (age 22) and Jake (19) and most recently, his great grandson, Liam (2 mo).

Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at El Camino Memorial, 4710 Cass Street, Pacific Beach. A celebration of life ceremony will immediately follow at the club house in De Anza Cove, 3000 North Mission Bay Drive.

Casual dress is preferred.
