Sally (Willis) Nixon, of Needham died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Deutsches Altenheim German Center for Extended Care in West Roxbury. She was 89 years old. A Needham resident for over 40 years, Sally was a former secretary at the Pollard Jr. High and Needham High School. She was a member of the Bridge Club and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. The beloved wife of the late Edward Nixon, she was the loving mother of Kathleen Nixon of Westwood, Peter E. Nixon and his wife MaryBeth of Duxbury, Martha N. McCarthy and her husband Daniel of Marshfield and Edward M. "Ted" Nixon and his wife Deborah Lynn of Dracut. Sister of Betty Guthrie of Needham and the late Charles D. Willis, she was the loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in the Congregational Church Chapel, 1154 Great Plain Ave Needham on Thursday, November 15 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham, on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain. In lieu of flowers donations in Sally's name may be made to the Deutsches Altenheim, German Centre for Extended Care, 2222 Centre St, West Roxbury MA 02132.
