STEPHEN M. SMITH, 61, of Woodland Park died Saturday. Born in Ellenville, New York, Mr. Smith resided in Little Falls before moving to Woodland Park in 1969 where he has resided since. He retired in 2010, after 31 years of teaching, as a Physical Education Teacher at Memorial School in Woodland Park. While he was known to many as a dedicated teacher, he was best known for his trademarked white knee-high socks. Mr. Smith was a member of the Little Falls United Methodist Church; a life member of the West Paterson Boy's and Girl's Club and was a 1974 graduate of William Paterson University where he was a member of the Skull and Ponaird Fraternity. Survivors include: his wife, the former Allison Husk; his son, Sean Smith of Woodland Park; his three daughters, Jennifer Rotonda and her husband, Joseph of Belleville, NJ, Kelly Smith of Woodland Park and her boyfriend Eric Bruce, and Terri Carrera and her husband, CJ of Honolulu, HI; his brother John Smith of Woodland Park; and his three sisters, Margaret Mulroony of Churchville, Pa., Kathleen Scala of Oakland, NJ and Hilary Smith of Montville, NJ. He will always be remembered and loved as "Uncle Steve" by his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his dogs Cody and Emmy. Funeral Services will be 9:30 am Friday from Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls and 10:00 am at Little Falls United Methodist Church, 139 Main St., Little Falls. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Visitation on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial Contributions to Little Falls United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
