Tom VanArsdale, 58, of Okolona returned to his Heavenly Father Monday, February 25, 2013.
Mr. VanArsdale was born March 12, 1954 in Louisville and was a musician in a local band named "Anxiety" for 13 years. He was a dedicated manager for 27 years at Value City Department Store and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by, his father, Sammy VanArsdale.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years, Kay VanArsdale; children, Schelee Riddell, Kimber-Lee Abel (Joe) and Kristine Johnson (Josh); grandchildren, Colter Dale Johnson, Nathan "Bub" Riddell, Jordyn Abel and Lilee "Sis" Riddell; mother, Margaret VanArsdale; niece and nephew, Ethan and Channing Craft and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way, Louisville, KY 40229 where visitation will also take place from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from noon until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.).
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
